Oceans of opportunities

Orientation classes
(limited classes available)

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Marine Science Center! Volunteers play a vital role in the success of educating the public about the importance of our fragile marine environment and in the rehabilitation of threatened and endangered sea turtles. Training for all volunteer opportunities will be provided. Please note that a basic background check will be administered.

We ask that you be able to meet the following:

  • Volunteer for a minimum of seven hours / two shifts per month,
  • Complete the appropriate training session(s),
  • If you cannot make your shift due to illness, vacation, etc. find a trained substitute to replace you for that short period (you are not required to find a substitute for your position in case you choose to no longer volunteer at the Marine Science Center).

NOTE: Teamwork is essential at the Marine Science Center. At times, volunteers may have the opportunity to assist in other areas during their scheduled shift.
