Volusia has been home to a wide variety of farming endeavors since the days of the first Europeans. Preserved mill ruins show the important role that sugar production once played here. Volusia County was also at the center of Florida’s steamboat era on the St. Johns River. Get to know Volusia County and you’ll see it’s richly steeped in history.
