Island Ecotour

island.jpg (12291 bytes)Discover the ecological wonders of the Indian River Lagoon Estuary, one of the most diverse estuaries in North America. Here is a chance to see dolphins, ospreys and manatees almost close enough to touch. You also will observe a variety of fish, wading birds, and wetland plants in their natural environment.

Our boat, "Discovery" is the perfect shallow draft vessel to explore the abundance of life in the backwaters of Canaveral National Seashore. Every trip is led by a marine biologist and Coast Guard master captain. Travel on the same water paths early settlers cruised through Florida before there were roads. Visit Eldora, a late 19th century community and its newly remodeled house which is now a museum. See 2000-year-old Indian middens (shell mounds) off the regular paths.

Island Ecotour also offers

  • Fun picnic visits to isolated islands or swims near Ponce deLeon Inlet for parties or reunions.
  • Sunset trips -- the river at night is fantastic and romantic.
  • Space shuttle launches by boat (eight miles from pad).
  • Waterfront bar/restaurant cruises to Ponce Inlet.
  • Half-day trips that include a nature video and walk up a 60-foot Indian mound.
