

Museum of Arts and Sciences
This is the only AAM-accredited art, science and Florida history museum
and planetarium in northeast Florida. Changing exhibitions and permanent
collections feature paintings of
the 18th - 20th centuries; American fine and decorative arts, 1640 - 1920;
European paintings, Oriental art featuring Chinese art and Indian and
Persian miniature paintings; African art; Cuban fine art; Pre-Columbian
art and Florida Native American material.
Film, video, concert and lecture
programs are offered throughout the year. Facilities are available to
handicapped.
The museum is on a 90-acre nature
preserve with interpreted trails, Window on the Forest Environmental
Center, Chapman Root Hall. The Museum of Arts and Sciences is the
designated primary museum of Volusia County and a State of Florida Major
Cultural Institution.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday;
and noon to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.
